Dos and Don'ts


Below are safety and security guidelines [dos and don’ts] to be followed by employees, contractors and visitors working and living in G B Pant University of Agriculture & Technology.
Dos Don'ts
Obtain a valid gate pass / permission to enter or leave the university campus Attempt to enter the university campus area or pass through any security gates/barriers without a valid gate pass / identity card.
Stop at security gates/checkpoints and show your gate pass/identity card/permission to security personnel Exceed speed limits
Get a material exit pass for taking out any material/equipment from the industrial area. Smoke in the public places inside the campus.
Secure a work permit and retain it at the site while carrying out any work.[your work permit is subject to inspection at any time by security personnel. Carry any cameras in the university area without a valid permit.
Follow safety and security procedures. Take out any material/equipment without a material exit pass.
Drive without a valid driving license or vehicle papers.
Hand-over your non-intrinsic pagers,mobile phones,cigarette lighters,match boxes etc. to security personnel at the main gates before entering any highly restricted zone/area. Overtake vehicles in two-way, single lane roads.
Evacuate the site immediately when you hear the emergency alarm/sirens. Go to assembly/munster points displayed in the area assigned by each locality that you are visiting or working with. Panic if you hear an alarm/siren while working in the university [it is to caution you to leave the work site immediately and proceed to the assembly points].
Check your vehicles condition for possible worn/damaged tires, oil leaks etc. Enter the university in a vehicle in poor condition[with worn out tires, oil leaks etc.]
Wear seat belts at all times.follow speed limits and keep sufficient distance from other vehicles. Break any state laws and / or safety and security rules and regulations.
Park your vehicles in proper designated parking areas. Hunt in the industrial area or harm, the environment.
Keep your place of living / work clean and tidy in accordance to safety regulations. Quarrel and / or indulge in fighting/riots or strikes with your co-workers or anyone else.
Inform your site supervisor and safety and security immediately if you are involved in any accident/incident in the campus. Leave any items/materials unsecured.
Use trash skips for all waste and debris.
Carry a first-aid kit [a must have for contractors] for any emergencies.
Transport labourers/workers in proper and safe vehicles.

  • If you have doubt about any of the above, please feel free to clarify with authorised officials.
  • It is hoped that the above guidelines, which are issued in the interest of all, will enhance safety and security awareness and create a healthy working and living environment for all.
  • Ignorance of the above shall not be accepted as an excuse for committing any offence. Any security / safety breach shall be seriously dealt with.
  • The offender may be subjected to severe disciplinary action and may also be detained by security or be handed over to Pantnagar Thana Police for the necessary legal action .
