We are the Security Department for the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar. Our department is responsible for security throughout the main campus, at Pantnagar City, as well as for several out-stations across the state of Uttarakhand in India. Thank you for stopping by. The G B Pant University’s Security Department (GBPUATSD) is committed to providing the Pantnagar community with a safe and secure environment. Although reported crime (predominantly property crime) at Pantnagar is low, it is important for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to remember that we are located near an urban industrial setting. Therefore, we share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city. In partnership with the community, we work to prevent crime and solve problems that affect students, faculty, and staff. The safety and security of the University is the combined responsibility of the entire community.

The Security Department is dedicated to providing the safest possible working and living environment for all members of the University - faculty, staff, students, service providers and visitors - in an unobtrusive and professional manner and consistent with the security needs of the educational institute.

The Security Department is going to be aided in its tasks by a IP based Video Cameras / Alarm System operated from a control center in Administrative Building. All entrances and exits, as well as the perimeter of the university, shall be covered by hi-tech security gazettes. In addition, a special alarm system will signal the command center when unauthorized activities are taking place.

A computerized card-access system is also to be installed to facilitate entry into specific areas of the university. This system shall be integrated with our existing identification badge to enhance the security of designated areas.

Security is as much about education as it is enforcement to this end we are dedicated to working closely with our community as a clear statement of learning and growth. The mission of the G B Pant University’s Security Department is to maintain a safe and secure campus by providing quality policing in partnership with the community and local police.
