I am having a problem with my LAN connection.
When i connect my computer to the LAN then i can access other computers but the others can't access my computer.
Even i have two of my drives on sharing but the others are not able to see it.
Nor i can play games using my LAN.
while playing games it shows the available networks but i can not join that.
I have installed all the drivers on my Laptop.
i am using the laptop DELL VOSTRO 1014.

Is there any problem with my laptop hardware or with the Antivirus ?
Or should i change any setting ??

Please guide me .

check if network discovery is enabled and "password protected sharing" is disabled in "control panel->network and sharing center->advanced sharing settings->" .. if not then do it ..  Wink

for lan games .. if they don't work after correcting the above settings then add an exception for your game in the firewall program(may be integrated with your antivirus) you are using .. you may also try by turn off windows firewall  Wink

tell me if it helps ..

Sir,
I did the same as i was directed.
But the problem did not solve.
Later on i made a call to the Dell Customer Care and i cam to know that the problem was with my Hardware.
The LAN Adapter of my laptop is not strong enough.
