To start with ,I am not sure of wat path to follow Undecided.. for i am in  the most usual dilemma found commonly among the people of my age ,who are still(its 3rd year already) not able 2 decide CAT or GRE??So my first question goes out:Can GRE n CAT preparations go side by side??if yes please elaborate..
Secondly i was just going through the barons word list and even succeded in cramming up some of the pages...and yeah puzzling my friends with those words Grin
but i suspect if i could retain them till the time i give my GRE...so is it worth accumulating these words(i wonder if  even the americans use them in their daily life :Smiley...)from nowon or should i leave this part for the crucial 2-3 months time b4 the exam??Do tell me what should i foccus upon @moment (precisely wat and how should i be preparing?)
Please bail me out of my confusion!HELP Cry

First my apologies for replying so late.I have reached LA and classes have started in USC.I was horribly busy so I couldn't come here.

1.Decide between CAT and GRE,it's not my call but yours....AND it's extremely dangerous and futile to ride two boats.

2.Increasing your vocab helps in understanding conversation (specially when technical terms are involved)

3.Would you please stop using SMS lingo in your queries. It hurts my eyes and it will ruin your writing capabilities.

Thanks for your reply sir.I am sorry for having used what you term as sms lingo. but sir constant messaging these days have made them creep into my usual way of written conversations...i am really sorry for that and will try avoid using it again.
Sir many a people have suggested me that CAT n GRE preparations can go hand in hand..its very much true that it has to be my decision whether to go for CAT or GRE but sir frankly speaking i am not able to make a call...sir could you please tell me what parameters i should keep in mind while making a choice.

For those who told you that CAT and GRE prep can go hand in hand:
1.They might be super geniuses so I salute them
2.They might be bluffing.
So in any case don't listen to them  Grin

I wanted to remain in my field (Computer Science),that's why I decide to go for MS.To learn more about my area of interest,to see things so I can go deeper into research type of stuff.MBA is for those who want to get into managerial positions.I can't understand why you haven't made up your mind yet  Undecided Well ,you can still decide but it's entirely upto what you want to make out of your life.Take some time off your preparation, talk to people, read articles and then decide. As I said, its your call Smiley

Feel free to ask anything but as previously stated,my replies may not be prompt.

hey deepak,
although this is a GRE centric discussion, and GRE hasn't been my aim..but still seeing your dilemma, i want to say a few things...
1. as mayank sir rightly said, GRE and CAT even if can be aim for some highly intellectual people, but don't you think that it seriously questions what a person really wants to do and wants to be...at this point of your college life you should be able to answer questions like "where you want to see yourself in say 3-5 years"...obviously the course of GRE can be called a subset of CAT, but giving them together means one really lacks ambition...so please narrow down on one...
2. once that is decided, you will yourself start seeing things in a much clearer way....
