CAMPUS NEWS

1. National conference on State of The Art Technologies in Mechanical Engineering: STEM’07 was jointly organized by department of Mechanical and Production engineering from 29th to 31st October.
   
   
2. Dr. A.P. Sharma who had been previously working as Dean Fisheries succeeded Dr. P.L.Gautam as the new Vice chancellor of the University. The former Vice Chancellor was bidden farewell at an official ceremony in the Gandhi Auditorium on the 22nd of October. Dr PL Gautam has joined as Dy. Director General (Crop Sciences), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi.
   
   
3. One of our alumni Dr. V M Mayande, has joined as Vice Chancellor of PDKV Akola. He had been PG student of Agricultural Engineering in our university.
   
   
4. Central Computing Facility (CCF), providing free internet access to the university staff and students , was inaugurated by His Excellency, the Governor of Uttarakhand, Dr. Sudarshan Aggarwal, on 5th of   October.
   
   
5. Interface, the branch chapter of Computer Engineering organized a Lan-Gaming and C++ Olympiad from 28th to 30 th September in the Computer Engineering Department.
   
   
6. Plexus, the branch chapter of Information Technology organized a 10-10 cricket tournament ‘Cricket-o-mania’ from 29th to 31st September in the Stevenson Stadium.
   
   
7. The Fun Fest including three main events: Tug of war, slow cycling race and AVRACIOUS was organized by the Genesis society, branch chapter of Production Engineering department on 28th of October.
   
   
8. Electroglint, the branch chapter of the Electrical Engineering department organized a table tennis tournament ‘King of the table’ on 27th October.
