Kisan Mela
           
Yet another prolific and buoyant episode loomed in Pantnagar this autumn season which commenced on September, 29 and lasted till the 1st of  October, 2007. Again, the Kesan Mela knocked the doorways of the booming agriculture sector.

The fair was an effort to bring the latest technological advancements in the agriculture sector and provide a platform to the farmers to proceed towards the improvement of agriculture products. The huge exhibitions of the modern farming equipment like tractors, traction-engine farm machinery etc. were the main charmers that captured majority of the stalls of the fair. Apart from the latest range of mechanically operated tools, there was also a comprehensive variety of seeds, plants, fruits, fertilizers, plant protecting chemicals etc. at display which too proved useful and profitable for the farmers.

Pickels, woolen clothes, hand made goods, ayurvedic medicines; ointments etc. also occupied several stalls and captivated the crowd. These along with certain other stalls exalted the accomplishment of the fair. Representations of some government aided societies and organizations such as National Botanical Research Institute, handlooms and cottage industries, Central Institute for Medicinal Aromatics Plants were also there to add to the grandeur of the Kisan Mela .

For the common masses, there were diverse stalls to enthrall and captivate them that included ice-cream stalls, swings, fast food and drinks, clothes accessories and decorative items, jewelry stalls. The young college students had a chance to discover a lot of joyous and fun filled elements in the fair. Far these few days Kisan Mela become the favorite hang out for them. It seemed to be most relaxing and insouciant mode, out of their hectic and frenzied schedule of daily college activities.

Not only the farmers and the related field employers, the common mass too was found fervent and responsive about the event .Eventually, this activity in the town not only proved to be proficient, serviceable and invaluable far the farmers but also a gaiety, euphoric and sumptuous happening for the local people.
