After
the grand Alumni meet in January, February in Pantnagar couldn’t
have been less happening. On the twenty-fifth day of this month “Razzmatazz-The
Techfair” was organized by the students of College of Technology,
in the college campus.
Preparations
for the fair had begun long before in the first week itself. The
students were all charged up and were burning with a sense of challenge
and competition during the bidding session when the stalls were being
auctioned. The enthusiasm of the students knew no bounds. By
about nine in the morning all the stalls were ready glaring with hoardings
and posters of their respective sponsors ranging from the leading fashion
brand to the leading estate agency.
The
Techfair was inaugurated by the honourable vice chancellor cutting the
red ribbon. Other colleges of the university were also invited. There
were numerous stalls, but the hot favourites were the eatables’
stalls. The smell of ‘chat’, ‘bhelpuri’
and ‘chinese food’ filled the air and acted like an appetizer
even for overfilled stomachs. Ice-cream and cold drinks stalls entertained
the largest number of customers and made huge profits. The game stalls
were no less. Stalls like ‘matka phod’,
‘lucky 7’ and ‘housie’ also attracted a considerable
number of students.
The
most happening of all was the request stall, managed by the final
year students. That was the day and medium to say anything to anyone
publicly! The day proceeded and as all good things must come to an end,
it also ended. But it ended with a bang- a jam session in which students
from first to final year jammed in and had fun.
By the end, the stall owners either ended up profiting or losing, but
it was definitely an experience to remember and recollect.
