……Ours is a technological age where the invariably escalating competition for supremacy and the juggernaut of brilliant minds have led to an incredible uplift in the general lifestyle. With a cut throat competition continuously gnawing at ones confidence, preparing a strong foundation and a thoughtful creative mind becomes an absolute necessity. Giving youngsters a perception of invention and innovation and that’s what our fest namely Colosseum accomplishes through a plethora of events ingrained in the four days.
            Abhivyakti, an event that welcomed the ingenious with esoteric, eloquent views to judge their technical acumen at national level. Jugat, where the skill of disassembling and assembling of intricate machine parts is tested. Informals, with its series of events brought one into a world of fun and frolic wherein luck, attitude and some crazy fantasies were observed. Aurum, a coalescence of intellect, beauty and creativity designed to test the participants’ wit, charm and panache till the termination with crowning of Mr. and Ms. Colosseum. Nations, an event that analyzed ones diplomacy and oration as one represented oneself as a country’s delegate. Sanrachna, an event that provided a platform to manifest the innovative thought of the participants. Renaissance, a series of guest lectures and workshops as an attempt to make people aware about facets of life. Ranbhumi, a robotics contest where one had to set brain free to explore the cosmic field of robotics pitched against a machine. Literary events like x-quiz it, lingua franca, biz-czar, sensex and iconoclasm were some of the most testing events. Various branch chapters also contributed in the fest and made up the total number of the events to about 47.
            Students from colleges all across India made their way to our college loaded with all their paraphernalia to become a part of a fest unbeatable in every aspect.
The four days plunged in the pool of abundant happiness and splashes of success, were days one would always love to look back on.
            Change is the eternal law of nature, say some. Change is inevitable, say others. So did our Colosseum undergo a few favourable changes for instance, the much awaited incorporation of corroboree – the celebrity night in the fest.
It is our own College of Technology, Pantnagar, known for setting paradigms of perfection in all spheres of life.
            Colosseum’06 will certainly embark an odyssey to broaden horizons and a universal outlook of the students making themselves zealous and better citizens of tomorrow. The scintillating blend of these colourful days was an experience……. over and above everything.
