(National Service Scheme)

           The society is where we take our first breath, where we grow up to be a complete human being. It is our duty to contribute our bit to our society, our nation. Such an opportunity is provided by the College of Technology, Pantnagar by organizing NSS camp for the 3rd year students. Under this program, each branch of engineering students is assigned a particular task in the locality and also works to spread awareness about delicate issues.
            Various programs were organized by various branches of engineering. Mechanical and Production Engineering organized a cultural event showcasing the vibrant culture and traditions of Uttranchal, comprising of folk songs and folk dances performed by the students of the various branches of engineering of college of technology. Computer Engineering and Information Technology engineering students organized a debate on AIDS for the students to spread awareness about this burning issue. It helped a lot in broadening the outlook of students and provided them with useful information.
            The third year students stayed back in the month of December. Each branch was given a locality in pantnagar to work for spreading the awareness and betterment of that area, under which Computer and IT Engineering were allotted Masjid colony, Production and Mechanical Engineering were given Beni Gaon, Electrical and Electronics and Communication Engineering were allotted Indira Colony and Agricultural and Civil Engineering were given Pantnagar. The students worked hard to collect donations of clothes and basic amenities for the deprived section of the society. The enthusiasm of students was commendable and yielded great results.
            The students of Civil Engineering prepared a plan of NCT which is displayed at the very entrance of NCT. The students of Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering flooded the campus with posters encouraging masses to save water and electricity. Health camps were organized in each of the villages visited by Electrical and Electronics and Communication engineering students to provide the basic information about the health care and medication. Also sign posts of the map of Ta Colony were posted in the Colony by the students of Computer and IT Engineering. Thus the whole program enriched the Samaritan side of the students and helped them to contribute their bit towards society and nation.
