KISAN MELA- a name synonymous with fun and frolic resound the bells of excitement with its advent. The name of the fair is most just as it is mainly set up by the farmers living in and outside Pantnagar, where they are made aware with the latest developments in the field of agriculture and technology. Taking place twice a year it brings with it, zest in the ambience. The fair is set up for not only the mass residing within the premises of Pantnagar but all across the nation as well.

                    This year the kisan mela began on the 4^th and continued till the 8^th of march. Apart from food stalls and joyrides there were some educational stalls like VSM which contained various knowledgeable books based on the teachings of swami Vivekananda, and saven which included general awareness about nature and the ways to preserve the flora and fauna.

An earnest endeavor by the college of technology was the stall having machines like pant zero-till ferti- seed drill, pant animal drawn zero till drill for hills , pant rotatory  puddler, etc. the stall was appreciated by one and all.

Besides the captivations to the peasants the kisan mela offers a variety of items for others too. The fair allures thgousands that include students from all the colleges incorporating the teachers and the residents of pantnagar. Owing to the exorbitant turnout everyyear it takes place twice year, and offers something new everytime and hence is the most awaited festival of the university.
