                                                     -  a step towards knowledge

                     It was an august opportunity for the students of College of Technology,  to have one of their reputed alumni Mr. Piyush Singhal, Sr. Engg. ST Micro Electronics (i) Pvt. Ltd. On 6th November 2004 he delivered a guest lecture on enterprise resource planning (ERP) which is well known topic in software technology today. The lecture was very informative and advantageous. The students felt lucky to have an informal talk with him where he shared not only his experience of professional life but also some of his memories of pantnagar. He recounted his days at pantnagar and was impressed by the changes he witnessed. He briefed the students about the evolution of ERP theory, the sources of ERP software, how this multi module application software helps companies to manage important aspects of business & its long term and short term cost factors. He made the lecture more interactive with the help of graphs and diagrams on slides. He also answered the various queries of the students.

                    The first effort of Alumni Cell to bridge the gap between alumni and college was successful and was appreciated giving way to another interactive session on 17th of November.

A guest lecture was organized to grace the momentous occasion of University Foundation Day on 17th November. One of our distinguished alumni Mr. J.C. Belwal, General Manager (Industries) Kumaun Vikas Nigam Ltd. was the honorable guest. He discussed the issue of environmental stability and construction in hilly areas, which is an important matter of concern in the seismic zone of northern India. He discussed the problems he faced in the field work along with his junior engineers setting solutions to certain difficult problems which he had come across which impressed the audience, especially the civil engineers to whom the topic directly concerned.
