Alma Mater

Dear Pantaguns,

I was always fascinated with this small airfield located in a corner of univ called "Phool Bagh Aerodrome". Somewhere inside my heart there was a keen desire to take an aerial view of the beautiful landscape of our univ and land at this tiny airfield. However, the possibilities of an aircraft landing at Pant Nagar are quiet less as not many aircraft operate in this area. But, 'Where there is a will, there is a way'. Ten years after passing out from univ, I got a golden opportunity and my dream came true.

I took off in my aircraft and after reaching above Rudrapur, I started monitoring the beautiful yellowish green agriculture fields and a small road leading towards my alma mater. These fields look absolutely mesmerizing from air. Soon I found myself flying over the hostels and college buildings. Two semi circular roads with library and adm block were looking very fascinating and I was appreciating the architect of our beautiful university. Then we took a left turn and flew over the Seed Processing Plant and Nagla station. I could see the traces left by Gola river water on the canvass of land below. After flying over bypass, our aircraft made an approach and I could see the land coming closer very fast. With a screech sound, the tyres touched the runway and aircraft halted near the dispersal.

I got down from the aircraft and requested aerodrome manager to connect me to the Faculty of Mech Engg and what a luck, I got through to our mentor - Prof. RCS Mehta. Sir told me that he is coming to airport. I did not have much time to go round the university as the airfield was closing after half an hour. Suddenly I saw our great teacher Sir RCS coming through the door. I was overwhelmed with feeling of nostaligia and touched his feet. He hugged me with a great warmth. After exchanging few notes, I bid him good bye and again touched his feet. I rushed to the aircraft and through the window saw Sir RCS waving his hands. The aircraft took off from the airfield and I felt that this was the best day of my life and I am going to cherish the wonderful memories of this experience throughout my life.
