The legacy of rich inheritance of our varied heritage continues as SPICMACAY, Pantnagar chapter, prepares on its roll “DHAROHAR 2010”, an event for the evolution of our innate instincts as a successful descendant to cherish some of the unparalleled skills and proven tactics.
The total programme has been scheduled for 12-14 March 2010, and would comprise of literary, cultural and linguistic competitions for the students who would give a tough round of judgement and applaud ; consisting of various distinguished segments, some of them being vigyapti(the paper presentation), Parivesh (the ethical ramp walk), Antarbodh(the debate and extempore), Junoon(the fusion band ), Samvad (the discussion forum) and lots more.
Apart from being full of valid apprehensions, Dharohar 2010 would have an essence of our colorful youth and the liveliness they instill in each one of us as they pave their way to advancement, bridged up by the substantial knowledged acquired through the historical journey of ethics.
The event has been heard loud in the air, and has accousted beats of excitement and enthusiasm among the students; and would undoubtedly attract an intellectual crowd for a zealous participation.We extend our wishes for the perpetual success of Dharohar 2010 and strive to live in the embarked shelter of our traditions, customs and enthralling culture, and be nourished in its graceful attire.

With the University completing its glorious 50 years, College Of Technology welcomed the foremost ones who laid the foundation of their career with foundation of their alma mater. The ambience of the 20th February morning was filled with giggles, tears of joy and everlasting fragrance of memories of 1960’s days here.
Alumni not only from all over the country but also from overseas flew back to their college to meet their companions after a long span of 39 years.
The day commenced with an inaugural session at PCT Conference Hall. Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. B.S. Bisht addressed the alumni with a vulnerable thanks extending to all of them for such a huge gathering. Other respected dignitaries on the stage were Dr. M.P. Singh (Dean, College Of Technology), Dr. K.K. Singh (Registrar, GBPUAT), Dr. Sadhu Singh, Dr. Akhilesh Kumar( Head, Training and Placement Cell, CT).
The inauguration was followed by the introduction session of alumni present there. It was organized by Mr. S.N. Lohia, who flew all the way from the United States just for this meet. With spectacular class photographs of 1960’s on the projector screen behind, each and every alumnus came forward to share his life story with the people accompanying him as he stepped into the real technical world.
The momentous session continued after lunch till 4, from thereof alumni visited the college premises where they were astounded to see the advancements in the college they left 39 years ago. They visited the laboratories, smart classrooms and language and communication labs. Thereafter they were cordially escorted to the Central Computing Facility (KNSCCF) which is a treasure in terms of technology to the University. Our honorable Vice Chancellor and his wife made this meet memorable by inviting all alumni at Tarai Bhawan, the residence of our VC, for the tea and refreshment. Alumni were overawed by receiving such warm hospitality by the Head of the University.
The evening tea was followed by a cultural program at PCT conference hall. It was arranged by the Cultural Bureau of Engineering and Technology Society. The cultural eve started with a small presentation through our alumni were made cognizant with our Annual Technical Fest “Colosseum-dream, innovate, achieve ”. Astonishing performances by the students induced the alumni to get on stage too and show their talent. A miraculous song was presented by Mr. Virendra Kr. Jain; and many other alumni performed in the flow of the eve.
The day ended with a lavishing dinner at PCT grounds and discussions of the gone-by days cherished in everybody’s conversation.
A part of introduction session was continued on 21st morning which was followed by a presentation on the Pantnagar Technology Alumni Association (PTAA) which gave alumni an insight of the organization working as an interface, the alumni chapter in Pantnagar.
The objectives of PTAA like enhancement of alumni-college interaction, maintenance of alumni database, publication of bi-annual newsletter , quarterly launched e-magazine ‘Audient’, and organization of annual alumni meet SAMANVAY were put forward. The presentation was applauded and appreciated, and we received a worth-mentioning response and valuable suggestions from the alumni body for the betterment of the PTAA. Out of the many vital suggestion, some were: affiliation of the organization to the parent body for the authenticity of the purpose, increase in interaction of the organization to be productive throughout the year, representation of PTAA in the local alumni meets in order to increase its awareness among them.
A discussion about our near objectives- VISION 2030 was held, which included the setting of a new frame of aims for technological advancement of our college. Improvement of technical equipments and facilities, new evolution in this sphere and more and more support on this front was acknowledged. With enthusiasm set up in each individual, a lot of affirmative acclamations were made.
A round of delicacies were served at a lunch at Mandakini Bhawan . With heavy hearts, we did bid our seniors farewell with an eminent hope to meet them again in near future. We learnt a lot through their experiences and still continue to live in the legacy…
On the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, the college is celebrating its triumph amongst its various prolific products which it has endowed to our country over the five decades. It has been a year of celebration and ensuing it, college is organizing the reunion of 1966, 1967,1968 batches on 20-21 Feb, 2010 embracing moments of reminiscence, informal meets, and cultural activities.
We will be highly obliged and immensely delighted with your presence in the meet.

Accommodation:
Accommodation will be provided at the guest houses available at the university premises or nearby hotels at Rudrapur.
Due to accommodation problem at Pantnagar all alumnus are requested to register as soon as possible and confirm their participation. The university buses will ply to Nagla Station, Lalkuan station and Haldi road station on the arrival of trains.
Registration Procedure:
The registrations for the meet have been started and you can inform us of your arrival via post or E-mail. The registration fee is Rs. 1000/- for alumnus along with spouse and Rs. 500/- for every extra individual.
You can confirm your registration by submitting the fees in PTAA Account [4446000100008658] at Punjab National Bank and sending the fee slip via email at alumnicell@gbpuat-tech.ac.in.
